I've always wanted to scrapbook, but the pages always take me so long to create because I try to make them perfect. I know I'm not alone with this problem - anyone relate?
So, I tried an experiment with this page - I didn't think about it too hard. I just grabbed a small selection of papers and embellishments, a favorite photo taken with my phone (not a perfect one) and moved things around on the page until I liked it. Not too much deliberating or agonizing - just fun!
And I have to tell you, it was very liberating. It might not be a masterpiece, but I like it. It was relaxing, not stressful and captured a moment in time, which is what I would like my scrapbooking experience to be all about. Stay tuned for more pages.....
I love it! Full of life and spontaneity...

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about wanting things perfect. I tend to sit and stare at materials, thinking about winning arrangements, beautiful arrangements, perfect arrangements. In reality some of my best work --- and my favorite work --- is a result of hodgepodge, higgledy-piggledy, and happy accidents!
ReplyDeleteYour page is great! I do relate with you, it takes me forever to do a page. I place everything on the page before I glue anything to make sure I like it then make any adjustments, take it apart and start to glue. Someday someone will appreciate the time and effort we put into it!
